Jules Lipoff, MD

Jules Lipoff, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and the Philadelphia Medical Director for The Dermatology Specialists. He is a clinical associate professor (adjunct) in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, Department of Dermatology. Dr. Lipoff’s research focuses on access to care, teledermatology, social media, and health equity.

Dr. Lipoff’s clinical expertise includes general and complex medical dermatology, supporting members of the LGBT community (including gender-affirming care) and patients living with HIV. He also serves as a Senior Subspecialist Consultant with telemedicine for Médecins Sans Frontières and is the current deputy editor of the Dialogues in Dermatology podcast series at the American Academy of Dermatology.

A native of Kansas City, Dr. Lipoff went to college at Yale, receiving a B.S. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. He attended medical school, interned in internal medicine, and had a residency in dermatology in the Bronx, New York, at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Lipoff resides in Philadelphia with his family, where he is a contributing columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and a media medical consultant.
