What You Should Expect During And After Your Fractional CO2 Resurfacing Treatment
Before you get your fractional CO2 resurfacing treatment, Dr. Buka will review the risks and benefits of this procedure. Before photos will also be taken prior to the procedure. After that, a numbing cream will be applied. Dr. Buka will begin the procedure one half-hour after applying the numbing cream.
After your treatment is over, you will see some small white dots on the areas of your skin that were treated. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the treatment. Dr. Buka will apply an ointment after your treatment has been completed. You will also receive aftercare instructions.
The First Two Days After Treatment
You will have swelling and redness for the first two days after treatment. You will also notice brownish or reddish dots. Crusting and oozing in the treatment areas are often common during the first two days after treatment. If the crusting and oozing does not go away within two days, then you should contact Dr. Buka.
Days Three And Four
You may still notice a little redness. Swelling should be completely resolved by now. Your skin may have a bronzed appearance, and you will notice flaking. The flaking may last for up to one week. You can begin to use makeup beginning on day four.
One Week After Treatment
Your skin will be slightly pink one week after treatment. This can easily be concealed with make-up.
One Month After Treatment
The redness should be completely gone one month after treatment. You will also begin to see the results of your treatment. Keep in mind that it may take up to six months for you to see the full results.
