This is a predicament – but there is a solution! If you have an increase or bump in your cholesterol while on Accutane, one of the potential options is to try a much lower dose to see if that elevates your cholesterol to less of a degree. This option will allow you to stay on it and complete your course. The only downside, is that it will take a much longer time to complete the course. You can avoid the increase in cholesterol, but also get to the same end point with your acne.
Apart from that, there are lots of options for acne. There are more conventional agents, like antibiotics. You could also try laser therapy with A.L.A., which is aminolevulinic acid – it can be very helpful as an alternative to Accutane!
