Microdermabrasion

What Is The Difference Between Crystal-Free And Crystal-Based Microdermabrasion?
There are two different types of microdermabrasion machines. The crystal-based machine will use sand-like particles to exfoliate the skin. Crystal-free treatments avoid these roughened particles altogether. Both of these procedures gently exfoliate the skin. Dr. Buka and staff perform crystal-free microdermabrasion using a gentle glycolic acid exfoliant.

Who Is Qualified To Perform Microdermabrasion?
All of the procedures are performed in the office by an esthetician or associate under the direction and supervision of Dr. Bobby Buka, a board-certified dermatologist.

Is There Any Downtime Needed?
There is no downtime associated with getting microdermabrasion. Your skin will be a little bit red for about 15 minutes after your procedure, but you will be able to go back to work immediately.

How Is Microdermabrasion Different From Dermabrasion?
Dermabrasion is a more invasive procedure that has a two-week downtime. It is used for severe wrinkles and acne scars. During dermabrasion, the entire epidermis is removed.
