Sourab Choudhury, DO

Sourab Choudhury is a board-certified dermatologist and a co-founder of The Dermatology Specialists (TDS). Dr. Choudhury has practiced in Brooklyn since completing his fellowship in dermatology at NYU Medical Center in 2002. He is one of a small group of doctors in NYC who have completed fellowships in pediatric dermatology, making The Dermatology Specialists one of the largest practices in NYC to offer the specialization.

Dr. Choudhury trains both pediatric and dermatology residents and lectures both locally and nationally. He is also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Choudhury completed his undergraduate studies in 1992 at the University of Michigan and received his DO degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. During the ensuing year he completed his Internship at the POH Medical Center in Pontiac, Michigan before entering that institution’s dermatology residency program, which he completed in 2002. From August 2001 to August 2002, he did a Fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at the NYU Medical Center.

From February 2002 through August 2002, Dr. Choudhury was a sub-investigator on a study being conducted at the NYU Medical Center involving the comparison of two drugs in the treatment of pediatric patients with tinea capitis. Prior to that research experience, he served as a sub-investigator comparing two medications in the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.

Dr. Choudhury has been an attending physician Long Island College Hospital, where he has taught dermatology residents from SUNY Downstate, St. Barnabas Hospital and St. Johns Episcopal. Dr. Choudhury has a publication examining common dermatologic problems in pediatric patients and has presented at the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology’s Annual Meeting and other venues including The Dermatologic Society of Greater New York.
