Havens Cary, MD is a board-certified dermatologist in New York City. Originally from New
Orleans, Havens graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with High Honors and as a
member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Shortly after, he returned to his hometown where
he attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine. While in medical school, he
completed a research fellowship at University of California San Francisco under esteemed
dermatologist Dr. Howard Maibach, where he published over 20 peer-reviewed research
articles/textbook chapters. Havens completed his dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate in
Brooklyn and has continued his commitment to advancement in the field of dermatology as
chief editor of Rosacea (Updates in Clinical Dermatology) and active member of the American
Academy of Dermatology.
In addition to acne and rosacea, Havens has interests in alopecia and
other hair disorders, cutaneous oncology (skin cancer screening and management), laser
therapy, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin conditions. He is dedicated to preventive
medicine and mastering the latest emerging treatments and solutions to his patient’s problems.
