Sumaia Chowdhury, PA-C is a board-certified dermatology Physician Assistant at The Dermatology Specialists. A native New Yorker, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hunter College before obtaining her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Joseph University in Philadelphia. Prior to becoming a PA, she gained extensive clinical experience working in the emergency room and as a surgical technician. During PA school, she completed her dermatology training in Huntington, further solidifying her expertise in the field.
Committed to continuous learning, Sumaia has completed specialized training through the American Academy of Dermatology and is currently advancing her expertise through the Society of Dermatology PAs Diplomate Fellowship program. She is passionate about providing high-quality, inclusive dermatologic care with warmth, compassion, and a patient-centered approach.
Fluent in Bengali, Sumaia also has a deep love for skincare and makeup, enjoys reading fantasy and thriller novels, exploring diverse cuisines through cooking and dining, and dedicates her time to fostering rescue cats and kittens.
